About Me

I have been practising yoga for about 12 years, teaching for 7. Yoga is a powerful tool for so many things, including but not limited to- processing emotion, building strength both physically and mentally, and calming the nervous system. I have found yoga to be extremely healing and enlightening in my own life. My goal is to provide space and time for you as a student to find the asana (yoga poses) in your body, to help you breathe deeper through pranayama (breathwork) and to find a slightly slower pace in this very racy world. Carving out the time for yourself to get on the mat and move in a way that feels good is a good way to fill your cup.
I teach both online (on a Monday night- a practice which started during lockdown), and on a Thursday night in Prestwood where I grew up. Classes are friendly and welcoming.
Off the mat, I hang out with my daughter, my dog, and my husband, walking, swimming and playing music on my harmonium. I love listening to music, seeing friends and family, and watching psychological thrillers. In my other job, I am a social prescriber, helping to connect people with local services to decrease isolation and loneliness.
The word ‘yoga’ is sanskrit for ‘union’. I am passionate about building community and union in all areas of my life.
My Story

I have always been aware of yoga, having grown up with a Grandma and Uncle who both taught yoga. It was, in fact, my Grandma who taught me to stand on my head when I was about 6!
I started practising yoga regularly 10 years ago and fell in love with this completely uncompetitive, person-centred way of exercising. I also became more compassionate towards myself and realised that yoga can offer so much more than relaxation and toned muscles.
I took time out in 2018 to travel around South East Asia with my partner. I had been working in mental health services, for the NHS and the charity sector for 5 years, having previously studied Psychology at University.
Whilst in Asia I decided to find a teacher training programme to deepen my knowledge of yoga. I studied my 200 hours with The Peaceful Warriors in Canggu, Bali in November 2018 and went on to study a further 300 hours in Pavones, Costa Rica, with Pranaluz Conscious Living in April 2019.
Having worked and volunteered in mental health services, I am passionate about the tools of yoga and their uses for helping us to stay well mentally.
When I am not on my mat or meditating, I love walking around the Thame countryside, seeing live music and travelling.
